Flashback: Claire

OMG Moments:

New Clues: With a guest star appearance by John Terry as Christian Shephard, does this mean that we might get an answer to the question of who Christian's daughter in Australia is?

YES! ...Claire is Jack's half-sister!

Questions: When Bakunin was talking to the trio about how he "doesn't know them", what was he going to say about Locke before Rousseau interrupted them?

He was about to say "the John Locke i knew was a parapallegic" but he interupted him at "pa..."

Trivia:

Theories: Christian might have another little 'Sheppardess' living Down Under. See below in "Observations". -L.A.

Observations: The timing doesn't match up between this episode and "Two for the Road". According to Claire's flashbacks, Mom's been in a coma since Claire was, at oldest, 18. And in "Two for the Road", Christian was yelling at her to let him see his daughter. Okay, fine. That flashback is really old. EXCEPT that both Ana-Lucia and Sawyer were in Australia at the time. I very much doubt that they were living there for, what, at least 5 years??? Especially since Ana and Christian parted ways soon after the encounter, and Christian died there before Jack even knew he was out of the country.
Unlikely but not impossible idea: Christian has yet another child running around Australia. I had the impression that the "daughter" was a child, not an adult, but I don't remember why. -L.A.

-There is a possible (though thin) solution: Perhaps Christian was yelling at the auntie, not Claire's mom. I don't have the DVDs, so I can't check. Anyone want to do the legwork? -L.A. EDIT: Yep, it was Aunt Lindsey. iMDB is a good thing.

The Surrealism of “ Par Avion”:..Its was all there in this episode, but, like with these new episodes that include Desmond, place and time are not where normally expected. Claire, the Air head of the Losties, has a flash of genius at the Beginning of episode. How’s that for “ incongruence”??,escaping the parameters of Time and space indeed...Something along that same line of perceiving and thinking, was defeating the Hightech Sonic Mind Buster Security System,,with axe and tree. Of course,,they did that by “rising above”.Well Done!..

The Motif of Black and White Polarity and resolving above the two, was reflected By Claire herself in physical presentation,,as well as mental perspective. Again, the discomboobulation of Time takes abit to sort thru..but ,,Claire, going from, I hate you Mom ,all the way to I’m sorry,,sorry,,sorry, suggests realization perhaps forced by Place and Time to a,,..umm..Compassion,?,Wisdom?.Anybody who has reflected on their own childhood as they look at their own kids, may have found some resonance in this episode,,as well as anybody who has had to make a decision,,as to the On or Off position of a breathing machine switch , may have found some resonance with this episode..Can we all take the next step, like Claire; All, that has went before,,bringing her to the insight,, the flash of genius,,successful exploration of the Imagination,,to send a message of Hope btw of Par Avion.?

Other little polarities include, from the oblique , skinny Claire wearing stripes( to look heavier) to Doc Christian leafing thru the tattoo catalogue,,well,, all the way to turning the “ daddie issue” motif on its head to “ daughter issue”…Now, very interestingly, we have a polarity of the off-spring of Christian; Jack, Man of Science, Mr Logic,, and Claire,, Mother Air head…One by tossing a bird and one by tossing a football…So..no balls found on the outside of the fence like I find all up and down the back alley,,nor any birds or other animals,,like I find, etc.

Thank goodness Mr failure, Charlie, wasn’t allowed to screw the bird deal up,,and that Locke, Mr faith,,has been exposed for his less than total forthcomings. Actually,,he has transgressed into actual lies and killing, now. There is some polarity for you, yet to be resolved..Sayid has Locke’s number.…and of course Jack and Tom tossing to ole football around..Talk about polarity,,but as usual..Lost has broke down the 3rd wall and is talking directly to you and me with that stunt…Speakin of stunts; the foaming at the mouth was something to watch. Again I don’t know how they did it,,but for a second there, I wanted to turn away from watching the guy die…But hey..this is lost. I’ll be re-watching this episode who knows how many times.

When he was explaining why they were "incapable" of understanding him, he called Locke angry, Danielle weak, and Sayid frightened (surprisingly spot on, IMO.). But even after playing it THREE times, I STILL couldn't understand what he called Kate.
It sort of sounded like he said "You're through". Can someone clear this up for me?

Is anyone else extremely suspicious of Rousseau? I mean she changed the topic of conversation right when Mikhail was about to reveal something two episodes in a row. Not to mention when they were going to raid Mikhail in his "house," she refused to participate. I think she is stil an other.

What's up with John, he blows up a building, steals C4 plastic explosives, and kills Patchy. He's a man with a vengence.
