Who she is: Colleen Pickett was an Other who was married to Danny Pickett. She told Ben that the survivors had a sailboat, and Ben ordered her to capture it. During the night, Colleen and several Others managed to get onto the boat, which was currently docked at the Pala Ferry. Jin and Sayid were on patrol, but they managed to get past them unnoticed. Sun was still inside the boat as the Others captured it. Colleen confronted Sun, who was holding a gun. Colleen said that they are not the enemy, but if Sun shot her, that is exactly what they will become. She also says that she knows Sun is not a killer. As the boast starts to move, Sun shoots her. Sun manages to escape the boat, with the Others firing at her.

Colleen was rushed to the operation room at the Hydra. Juliet attempted to remove the bullet, but to no avail. She asked Jack for assistance. When he arrived at the operation room, he also could not do anything because some of the equipment was not functional. She died during the operation. Later, Jack told Juliet that Colleen was already dead before he arrived.

Ben asked Jack to attend Colleen's funeral. It took place on the beach, in which all the people wore white clothes. She was placed on a pyre, and sent adrift, with the pyre set on fire.

• The funeral is similar to the funeral rituals in Hindu and Buddhist culture.
